"Look Away" is a psychological horror exploration game where you must retrieve lost childhood objects hidden in various rooms of an abandoned house. However, ghosts appear randomly, and if they find you, you die. The catch is that they cannot move while you're looking at them. The key to survival is navigating carefully, managing your gaze, and stay unnoticed to the ghost.
Konzept und Mechaniken
In "Look Away", players must explore a house consisting of multiple rooms, each containing a lost object tied to their past. The main goal is to find and collect all objects before the house becomes too dangerous. To determine which room holds the correct item, clues are left on the doors in the form of childhood drawings, handwritten notes, or old photographs. Players must carefully interpret these hints to choose the right room and retrieve the corresponding object. However, the house is haunted by ghosts that appear randomly, and direct eye contact with them is deadly—if players look at a ghost for more than three seconds, they die. Some ghosts move unpredictably, making each encounter unique. Unlike traditional horror games where players watch for threats, this game requires actively avoiding eye contact with ghosts, creating tension and suspense by forcing players to stay aware of their surroundings without fixating on danger. To navigate the house, players can use a map-based teleportation system that allows them to instantly travel between rooms. However, teleportation is risky—ghosts may already be inside the room the player chooses, leading to a fatal encounter. As players collect more objects, the house becomes increasingly haunted, with more ghosts appearing and staying in rooms for longer periods. This growing danger forces players to balance speed and caution, ensuring they complete the game before survival becomes impossible.

Play experience will be achived by using Unity as the game-engine and such input-devices as keyboard and eye-tracking system.
