Premise

In the boundless reaches of the universe lies Aquatica, a serene world teeming with life, water, and vibrant ecosystems. However, Aquatica faces a grave threat as hostile fish aliens rampage through its oceans, decimating habitats and endangering countless species.

You, an outsider that crashed on the Planet, step forward to preserve Aquatica's delicate balance. Guided by mystical forces and driven by an unyielding sense of duty, you embark on an epic journey across the cosmos to save the surviving fish from other planets.

Navigating through the stars, you rescue endangered fish species from the clutches of alien invaders. These rescued fish are brought back to Aquatica or other suitable planets, where you meticulously craft and nurture harmonious environments, ensuring the survival of your newfound aquatic allies.

Yet, peril lurks amidst the vast expanse of space, as you encounter nefarious foes such as alien marauders and sinister entities intent on disrupting your noble quest. To defend against these threats, you must fortify your base, cultivate protective flora, and develop potent remedies to cleanse polluted waters.

As you explore distant worlds, you unravel the mysteries of ancient civilizations, form alliances with enigmatic beings, and unlock the secrets of the universe. Along the way, you encounter strange landscapes, peculiar creatures, and cryptic dreams that offer clues to your ultimate destiny.

Objectives

Save Aquatica for extinction and the Gill Hunters. Collect and transport the surviving fish and defeat the enemy with special potions that give you powers.

Procedures

In the game, players control an outsider chosen to save Aquatica. They can utilize various abilities through potions, including water and ice manipulation, as well as poison control. Players engage in tasks like adventuring, exploring, rescuing fish species, managing resources, and defending against threats. They must craft potions using resources like plants to maintain their abilities and ensure success in their quest.

Conflict

The main conflict in "Echoes of Aquatica" is the threat posed by fish aliens called gill hunters rampaging through the planet's oceans. These invaders endanger the delicate ecosystems of Aquatica, forcing the player to step in and preserve its balance. The player must fend off his adversaries who aim to disrupt his mission.

• Failure to Protect Aquatica: If you're unable to defend against the Gill Hunters or protect the surviving fish, Aquatica's ecosystems may collapse, leading to defeat.
• Extinction of Endangered Species: Failing to rescue and safeguard endangered fish species can result in their extinction, ultimately leading to the failure of restoring Aquatica's environment.
• Inability to Solve Mysteries: Failing to unravel the mysteries hinders your progress and prevents you from achieving victory.
• Resource mismanagement. Failure to craft potions, maintain the balance of the ecosystem and sustain habitats lead to eventual defeat.

Visual Style

The game invites players into a dreamy realm of the aquatic world. Picture yourself navigating vibrant underwater landscapes painted in pastel hues, where shimmering schools of fish dart through crystal-clear waters. The game's aesthetic is like a beautiful painting, with lots of vivid colors and gentle ethereal light, evoking a sense of wonder and tranquility. Each place you go is like stepping into a stunning painting of unreal beauty, from bustling coral reefs alive with creatures to dark caves under the sea, hiding mysteries in the shadows.

In "Echoes of Aquatica," the line between reality and dreams blurs, immersing players in a world of dreams. It's not just a game, it's a thrilling journey into a realm where every moment is filled with wonder.

The Main inspirations for the Game's artstyle are from the games ABZU and The Legend of Zelda Link's Awakening HD. For the Underwater exploration we took our ideas from Genshin Impact and ABZU so really capture the underwater scene

Characters

Outsider:

The Player plays an astronaut that was traveling but crashed on an Planet in Aquatica. After they were saved by the rulers of Aquatica, they tasked them to save the planet and its fish.

The Outsider is a skilled potion maker, and with the help of the strange plants and herbs on the planet, they gives them the ability to either control some elements or boost the players stats.

The main task of the Player is to explore the planets and save fish from the hostile aliens, plant or collect herbs to make potions, decorate ponds to keep the fish safe till the planet is saed or explore the other planets.

Hostile Aliens:

These were the first Outsiders. They were given permission to discover the Planets of Aquatica. But greed and curiosity got the better of them and they started to kill and catch the fish of the planets. Angered by their broken trust, Yin, the black dragon, cursed the Outsiders into half-fish aliens and Yang, the white dragon banished them from the planet.

Years passed and the fish aliens had created their own organization named “Gill Hunters”. They planned an attack on Aquatica, capturing and hunting all the fish with the hope to bribe the dragons to change them back.

These creatures are very hostile and will attack anything on sight. Use Ice or poison magic, to damage them.

These creatures can come in different variations.

Deities:

The deities of the planet Aquatica are two Asian Dragons: Yin, the black dragon and the spirit of the past and Yang, the white dragon and spirit of the future. Yin is the dragon that cursed the first Outsiders into the hostile Aliens and Yang banished them from the planet.

After the Gill Hunters attacked, they found a crashed Outsider and begged them for help since they lost their physical body ages ago and cannot get back the captured fish.

They support the Player in the beginning, giving them instructions to make special potions and guiding them to captured fish or other sea live that needs to be rescued.

Fish in need:

These are the Inhabitants of Aquatica. They lived in peace until the Outsiders and later the Gill hunters returned. They were hunted for not only their special skills, but also their delicious meat and unique abilities.

Deceased fish take the form of a spirit, swimming around in the sky and sometimes helping out the player to find the fish still in hiding
