Concept
Premise
Embark on a journey to discover a new home for you and your sick partner.
Objective
Your primary objective is to find the perfect place to settle down, all while documenting your experiences in your journal.
Target Audience
Appealing to individuals of all ages seeking solace and comfort within a game, perfect for escaping the stresses of everyday life.
Game Mechanics
Journey Through Life is a cozy management and visual novel game, guiding you through the two small towns the protagonists grew up in. Engage with locals, complete tasks, and find out more about your past.
Document your journey using photographs, doodles, and collectibles to fill up your journal. As the story unfolds, you delve deeper into the protagonist's motivations and their relationship with their partner.
Characters
Select from two middle-aged characters, with your choice becoming the main character and the other your ailing partner. Though not customizable, you have the freedom to name the characters, both of whom are gender-neutral.
Outcome
Upon completing your journal, you have to decide between the two towns, each offering a unique cut-scene/ending, allowing you to live happily ever after in your chosen places.
Game Interface
Navigate the game with three essential tools: your backpack, journal, and phone.
Larger items can be stored in your backpack to aid in completing tasks, while smaller items can be inspected and added to your journal. New tasks are written down in the journal and checked off upon completion. Your phone serves as a means of communication with your partner.
